Irish born, Alena has studied and been involved in music all her life and is passionate about music education especially for children. She read music in Trinity College Dublin, is a qualified piano teacher and also studied the Irish harp for a while. She is currently studying singing and percussion at Qatar Music Academy. Alena has completed many choral conducting courses and is currently preparing to take two diplomas : singing and music direction with the ABRSM.
Born and raised in California, Zack has earned his M.M. degree in Vocal Performance from Mannes College of Music in New York City and his B.A. in International Business and Music from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. Zack worked as a professional opera and concert singer in Los Angeles and New York in collaboration with some of America’s master conductors, directors and coaches of the Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Mannes Opera, Flora Thornton Opera Studio, Mozarteum Salzburg, and Pittsburg Opera. As a recitalist he has presented works in English, Italian, German, French, Russian, and Spanish literature spanning three centuries. In addition to leading a private voice studio, coaching diction and technique for the Doha Youth Choir and Doha Bach Choir in Qatar, Mr. Singerman produces and hosts the podcast Voice Talks: The Young Artist Perspective, which serves to spotlight young professionals in opera
Michael Pignéguy is a gifted jazz drummer, composer, band-leader, arranger and producer. He performs & records alongside a variety of other skilled, international musicians and has been a music educator all his life. Born in S.Korea, Hailey is a qualified piano teacher and certified member of TMTA (Texas Music Teacher Association). She holds a degree in music performance and pedagogy from University of North Texas, USA. Hailey has been in Doha since 2007 and taught music at international schools. She has been an accompanist in numerous church choirs for many years. She currently collaborates Korean church choir with a fine conductor Jun Lee who plays bassoon at QPO.
Maralyn has been working with the choir from the very beginning. She comes from Sri Lanka and has two sons in the choir. The choir could not function without Maralyn who takes care of all things administrative.
